Privacy Policy

This site is run by one person. It hosts a browser demo of Fitz’s Aim Trainer, some information about the game, and a feedback form. This page explains what happens to your data when you visit.

Who I am

The site is fitzsaimtrainer.com, operated by Fitz, based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question, contact privacy@fitzsaimtrainer.com.

The game demo

Your scores, settings, and preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device. They are never sent to me, and I cannot see them. Nobody else can see them either. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes them permanently.

The demo needs no account, collects no personal information, and works entirely offline once loaded.

The feedback form

The feedback form is a Google Form. Anything you submit goes to Google’s servers and then to my Google account. I read responses only to improve the game.

If you include your email address, I will use it only to reply to you about your feedback. I will not add you to a mailing list, share it, or sell it.

Google may set its own cookies when the form loads. That processing is covered by Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Server logs

My web host (IONOS) keeps standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested. These are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure for security and reliability. I do not use them to build a profile of you.

Analytics and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, but only if you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner. If you decline, Analytics does not run and no analytics data about your visit is collected.

I use Google Site Kit to connect this site to Google services, including Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Search Console receives aggregate data about how the site appears in search results and does not identify individual visitors.

If you accept, Google Analytics collects information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. This data is processed by Google and may be transferred outside the UK/EEA, including to the United States, under Google’s Data Processing Terms.

You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on this site, or opt out globally with Google’s browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

I do not use advertising trackers or marketing pixels.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies: the consent banner sets a cookie to remember your choice, and WordPress may set functional cookies if you log in (relevant only to me as the site owner). These do not require consent.

Optional cookies: Google Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them in the banner. Cookies may also be set by the embedded Google Form, as described above.

Security

I use a security tool (Wordfence) that processes visitor IP addresses to detect and block malicious traffic, such as automated attacks on the login page. Some threat data, which can include IP addresses of attacking machines, is shared with the tool’s provider (Defiant Inc., based in the US) to maintain shared blocklists. This processing is based on my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)

Analytics cookies are processed on the basis of your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time. Everything else, responding to feedback you send, security processing, and server logs, is based on legitimate interest.

How long data is kept

Form responses are kept while they remain useful for development, and deleted when no longer needed. Server logs are retained according to my host’s standard retention period. Local storage data stays on your device until you clear it. I keep periodic backups of the site, stored with a cloud storage provider; these contain the site’s own data rather than visitor data, and old backups are rotated out automatically.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to request a copy of any personal data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to my processing of it. Since the only personal data I hold is what you have chosen to send through the feedback form, this in practice means asking me to delete a form response. Email privacy@fitzsaimtrainer.com and I will do it.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page.
